22 year old traditional singer, whistle player and uilleann piper from the Peak District, Seb Stone has won both the Future of Folk and Shantyman of the Year awards at Bromyard Folk Festival, as well as Stainsby Folk Festival’s singing competition. In the autumn of 2023, he was billed alongside Martin Carthy at Cork Folk Festival, and sang on stage with the Wilson Family at Hartlepool Folk Festival a week later. He draws on a varied repertoire of traditional English and Irish songs, focussing on the stories they have to tell, and their relevance to our modern world.
Mavka is a singing group consisting of young Ukranian women. The name is inspired by an animation about ancient forest nymphs who embody both the healing and destructive powers of nature. Come and listen to the enchanting voices of these mystical forest spirits, a mesmerising, barefoot communion with the raw earth and the joyful, fertile spring! Their songs convey peace and hope.
