Come and Enjoy the Delights of Broomfield’s Winter Garden

Derby College Group (DCG) is opening its outstanding winter garden to the public during a special open day event and craft fair taking place this week.

The Winter Garden at the College’s Broomfield Hall campus will showcase stunning winter flowers, colourful stems, creative plants and intoxicating scents.

In addition to strolling through the Winter Gardens, visitors can walk through 25 acres of growing, educational Victorian gardens and woodlands maintained by volunteers and students.

Gardening experts are on hand to provide advice and assistance, and you’ll also have the opportunity to purchase seasonal plants and shrubs and view bonsai demonstrations. Tours of the gardens are free throughout the day and you’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Old Hall. Most areas of the site are wheelchair accessible.

Samantha Harvey, Head Gardener at Derby College, said: “Spring is not far away and our gardens are coming back to life, full of beautiful colours and wonderful smells. The whole team have worked extremely hard to ensure the gardens look their best. Great condition and we are all very much looking forward to welcoming people in to enjoy the fantastic display.”

The Old Hall will also be open so visitors can browse gift ideas during the daytime craft fair. The café is also open and offers a variety of hot drinks and snacks.

This family-friendly event is taking place on Sunday 3rd of March at Derby College’s Broomfield Hall Campus near Morley from 10am until 4pm. Tickets, which can be bought on the day, are just £5 each, with children admitted free!

Tickets are available at the gate.
