The College in Pimlico will be open to the public on August 16, between 10am and 3.30pm with a wide range of family-friendly activities.
These will include a range of children’s activities, a makers’ fair with local crafts and upcycled Items, a treasure hunt, Taster Sessions for Upcycling, Woolcraft and British Sign Language, a Spanish cultural quiz, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue fire engine tours and a second-hand book sale.
DCG Assistant Principal – Adult and Community Learning, Jennifer Rehman, said: “Ilkeston College is an integral part of the community, so we are always eager to participate in the festival, which aims to increase people into the town and community involvement.
“We have planned a variety of events, some of which reflect the adult and community learning programmes offered here, and others of which celebrate the fantastic sense of community that permeates Ilkeston and the surrounding area”
The Open Day is part of the Ilkeston Community Theatre and Festival, which runs from 14th to 19th August and features Open Mic Poetry, Creative Writing, Lace Bobbin Making, Organ Recital, Art Exhibition and much more, all leading to our finale “One Voice Concert” on Saturday 19th August.
