We’re delighted to announce that our new Early Years and Families project is now underway! Initially planned for summer 2020 it was shelved during the pandemic but finally launched with a fun workshop in New Mills earlier this month.
The project involves a team of three specialist practitioners working with families and young babies from across the region. Attendees will sing songs and make music with sound artist Lucy Jackson, create patterned paper for collage work with artist and illustrator Andrea Joseph, engage in sensory soap play with EYFS teacher and museum family gallery designer Karl Harris. The collages will be used to illustrate a new book of High Peak inspired ABC poems that we are working on for distribution to local libraries, schools, and care homes later in the year. There will also be a series of follow up music sessions to write and record a High Peak ABC song with Lucy in the summer. We still have a few places at workshops on the following dates:
Tuesday 28th June [10:00-11:00] NEW MILLS
Tuesday 5th July [10:00-11:00] BUXTON
Tuesday 12th July [10:00-11:00] HOPE VALLEY (location TBC)
