London dance company Thrive Dance unveils Undercurrents: A captivating immersive triple bill performance in Derby

Contemporary dance company Thrive Dance from London will be performing their triple bill Undercurrents at déda in Derby on Saturday 9 March 2024. 
Twice that day will Derby viewers have the opportunity to experience contemporary dance pieces Half Sewn, It sort of just happens one day… and Unfurled
The show explores socially relevant themes around womanhood, home and the environment in an intimate and personal way. Thrive Dance creates immersive and unusual environments for their audience to explore; be it by seating their audience with their feet in fresh soil or by inviting the audience to change their position and perspective several times during one of their pieces.

 Half Sewn, a choreographic installation, takes you on the intimate journey of four women, confronting the patriarchal expectation of females to embody strength, sensuality and softness all at once.

 It just sort of happens one day… is a solo that explores our perception of what home is and questions whether it’s in the physical environment around us, in the items we can carry with us or if it’s found within our own bodies.

 Unfurled confronts the current climate crisis, taking a hopeful, community-based approach to finding a solution.

Undercurrents will be performed on Saturday, 9th March 2024 at 17.00 & 20:00 at déda, 
19 Chapel St, Derby DE1 3GU.
Tickets are £13.00 and £11.00 concessions.
