Touki – African inspired music and song in Tideswell

Touki – African inspired music and song in Tideswell

Come to some African-inspired music!

Come to an evening of high-quality, African-inspired music when Touki visit Tideswell on Friday 12th May.

Amadou Diagne from Senegal and French-American Cory Seznec, together as Touki, present a tour-de-force in multi-instrumental music, with powerful beats, driving tunes, and strong vocals that leap from East to West Africa and across to America.

‘Touki’ signifies voyage in the Wolof language and the musicians joyously travel between traditions, switching between koras, banjos, guitars, percussion and other instruments, their music reflecting many cultures. Their album Right of Passage is available widely online.

It’s another first for Tideswell Theatre, with this intimate performance in the fantastic Tideswell Community Hall, most recently used by us for The Swearing Jar and The Great Almighty Gill (both New Perspectives Theatre Company).

On the eve of Tideswell’s famous Food Festival, this is a show for all the family (age 10+) and their friends. Please spread the word and don’t miss it!

7:30pm Friday 12th May – doors open 7:00pm. Refreshments (wine and beer) for sale to ticket holders before the show and in the interval. Tickets £13 (£12 65+ and students) from www.ticketsource.co.uk/tideswelltheatre pre-order your drinks too if you like! Reservations on info@tideswelltheatre.org.uk or 07973963525. Brought to the village through Live and Local.
