By The Bi Productions brings Unleashed (a new play written by Siobhán Healey and directed by Olivier-Award winning performer Nathan Dowling) to Buxton Festival Fringe (8–26 July) this summer. It is the company’s first appearance at the festival.
Unleashed follows a Dominatrix through a series of client encounters, unpacking shame and what it means to defy society’s expectations in today’s chaotic, judgmental world. It features playful, educational audience interaction throughout.
As well as directing the show, Nathan (who trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts) plays all of the male roles. Siobhán Healey stars as The Dominatrix. Unleashed is her debut play.
At its core, this is a show about identity – who we are, who we’re expected to be, and the cost of living authentically. Everyone who has seen it has called it thought-provoking.
Following an Arts Council funded-preview at The Albany Theatre, Coventry, audiences responded strongly:
‘Brilliant writing, funny, powerful, educational and immersive.’
‘Delightfully uncomfortable.’
‘Powerfully emotional.’
‘The central message was clear and vitally important.’
“Unleashed is about confronting shame, and the cost of living as your authentic self. It’s raw, it’s provocative, but it’s also deeply human and relatable.” – Siobhán Healey, Writer
Suitable for audiences aged 18 and over. Contains adult themes, explicit content and frank discussions around sex.
Performances:
Sun 12 July – 10:00PM, Mon 13 July – 8:45PM, Tue 14 July – 10:00PM
Underground at the Working Men’s Club, Buxton
