Local singer Hannah Brine releases song for World Book Day

Derbyshire musician Hannah Brine has written a song for World Book Day (March 2nd 2023). “Picture Book” is a romantic “Bacharach style” song which likens a person romantically to a book. Hannah, tipped as the next Norah Jones, wrote the song with Michael Garvin (23 Number 1s, including J Lo’s Waiting for Tonight) and pianist Jonathan Wiliams (Royal Opera House, and currently a team captain in the finals of BBC Two’s Only Connect).
She says: “We were talking about books and how we love how a book can transport you, how we love holding books, and how a good story gets inside your head and you find yourself thinking about it all day… we realised there were many similarities between a love of books with a love for a person, so we had fun drawing comparisons. I am also playing a gig in a bookstore in April so it felt like good synchronicity”

Hannah has been BBC Radio Leicester’s ‘Introducing track of the week’ four times previously and has performed with the likes of Gary Barlow on Strictly Come Dancing, as well as having the number 1 selling song in the trance charts last year with her single You & I.

She is performing at the High Peak BookStore Cafe on Thursday, April 27th, with Clive Gregson.
