Sunday Coffee Concert Series

Spring Bank Arts is excited to bring some of the principal players of the Hallé who have not yet performed in the series. We welcome principal oboist Stéphane Rancourt, and principal flautist Amy Yule in the first concert on March 19th, performing works by Mozart and Benjamin Britten, for oboe and string trio, as well as flute and string trio together with their colleagues Marie Schreer (violin), Chris Emerson (viola) and Dale Culliford (cello).

On April 23rd as part of the piano weekend, Dvorak’s much-loved piano quintet in A Major will be performed, with Caroline Pether (leader of Manchester Camerata) Dale Culliford, Paul Janes and friends – familiar faces, always happy to return and play for the welcoming audience at Spring Bank Arts.

In the last concert of the series which this year will be on July 2nd, we are thrilled to welcome the new leader of the Hallé, Roberto Ruisi, performing with principal cellist Nick Trygstad and colleagues in a concert of string quintets. Mozart’s beautiful G minor quintet with two violas will be the main work in this programme.

Another date for your diary also as part of the piano weekend will be a return of the Scott Brothers Duo on Saturday 22nd April, 7.30pm. Jonathan and Tom Scott last performed in 2017 and will once again bring a fascinating programme of virtuosic piano duo music, enhanced by the use of the big screen hooked up to a camera so the audience can see the complexities of four hands on one piano keyboard! This was a sell-out event and promises to be a fun-filled evening. Discount tickets only £12 for Coffee Concert season ticket holders, £15 without.

Book early for a discount season ticket, or individual tickets for selected concerts. Coffee and cake served at 11am.
