Could you be Wirksworth Festival's next Artist in Residence?

Applications now open for the Wirksworth Festival’s 2022 artist in residence programme are now open.

Calling all artists resident in the UK – would you like the chance to spend 3 months in the Derbyshire Dales to take time to stand back and think about what you do, maybe consider a new direction?

The Lodge Project will enable an established artist with a minimum of 5 year’s practice experience to undertake a funded residency in the Derbyshire Dales during the Summer of 2022.

We are looking for a visual artist who would explore the area from an outsider’s point of view – the landscape, diverse architecture, industrial past and community and develop a body of work based on their time here. The residency would conclude with an exhibition at the Wirksworth Festival.

The Accommodation

The successful applicant will be provided free of charge, with an C18th century, 3 bedroom cottage with adjoining studio five minutes’ drive from the town of Wirksworth.

Your own transport and personal studio equipment would be needed.

The Fee:

A £3,000 fee is paid to the artist.

Eligibility:

A UK resident visual artist wishing to refresh and develop their practice.
