LEVEL Centre, in collaboration with Katie Walters and Radical Body, are looking for artists who have difficulty leaving the home to perform at a new national symposium called HouseFound that takes place on 2nd March 2022.
There are many reasons that someone might struggle to leave the home. These include energy limiting conditions such as ME/CFS or EDS; mental illnesses such as agoraphobia or anxiety; developmental disabilities such as autism, PDA, or learning disabilities; being immunocompromised or immunosuppressed.
You may also struggle to leave the house because of structural barriers, including inaccessible housing or public transport or a lack of support that would facilitate leaving the house. If you’re not sure whether or not you ‘count’ as someone who struggles to leave the house, it’s likely that you do. You do not need to have a formal diagnosis to apply.
We’re looking for three artists to perform at HouseFound. Performances can be up to 20 minutes in length, and can be in any art form, on any theme. The extracts will be performed in the artist’s homes and streamed to a live audience during HouseFound. Webcams and stands will be provided for the day, and we’re offering a financial contribution of £500 for each artist. You can download an information pack with more details on our website.
We want this opportunity to reach as many artists as possible, so we’d really appreciate you sharing this with your networks.
With your help we can provide a platform for brilliant creative talent that deserves exposure.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 5th January 2022.
