THE LAUNCH OF BUXTON FILM SHORTS SHOWCASE 2026
Are you an established filmmaker or someone who wishes to develop their own existing skills? Buxton Film wants to hear from you. This could be your chance to shine!
A callout to all filmmakers across the Peak District. Submissions are needed for the 4th Annual Shorts Showcase which will take place in July 2026 as part of the Buxton Festival Fringe in The Pavilion Arts Centre cinema.
Filmmakers can submit brand new films or any film they have made within the last two years. Films can be in any genre: drama, documentary, animation, music video, sci-fi etc, but they must be under 10 minutes in length.
Buxton Film spokesperson, Luay Salman said ‘We are keen to showcase the best talent in the Peak District. We know there are talented filmmakers out there, we want to help them show and market their work. We are also establishing a group of local filmmakers who can network and collaborate. We really want to play our part in nurturing and guiding emerging talent.’
There will be Audience as well as Jury prizes for winners. The deadline for submissions is May 31st.
