Back for its third year, the Plastic Free Festival returns to Chesterfield for a day of ethically conscious shopping, creative craft workshops, children’s entertainment, tasty food and drink and live performances. A fantastic family-fun day out with the sole purpose of helping you to reduce your single-use plastics and live a plastic free lifestyle.
At the festival you will find stunning products from local, independent businesses, all without any plastic!
There will be live music throughout the day from local musicians such as Ada Blue, Mr Bunny, Dukeries Ukeries, and headliner, North Ridge.
You can enjoy delicious food and drink at the festival from a number of caterers, including Mexican Mare, Feast from the East, Veggies Catering Campaign and others. In keeping with the ethos of the festival it is recommended that you bring your own reusable bags, cups, containers and cutlery.
Finally, you will no doubt enjoy the many craft workshops taking place, including make a willow tension tray, a nature based natural material craft activity, and a repair station, where you’ll learn how to darn clothes, patch holes, and replace buttons!
The festival this year is kindly sponsored by Sheffield reusable container business, Loadhog, who have kindly purchased a quantity of reusable pint cups for the festival which you can hire to use at a pop-up bar.
The first festival took place on Sunday 8th August 2021 and was a success. If you would like to volunteer on the day, become a sponsor, or find out more about who is appearing at the festival, visit theplasticfreefestival.co.uk.
The Plastic Free Festival takes place on Sunday 16th July 2023 between 10am and 4pm at New Square Chesterfield.
