We will be holding the Festival Book Fair on Saturday 13 May, one week before the start of the Festival. It will once again be held in the wonderful Museum of Making (Italian Mill on the ground floor) from 10.30am – 4pm. Admission is FREE.

We will have around 30 stalls, including authors, publishers and book-related crafts. We will also have our popular mystery book stall!

As well as being an artist/printmaker Harriet regularly teaches English and cooks for the totally and utterly amazing refugee charity, Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity ( https://derbyshirerefugeesolidarity.org/ ) Because she is so so proud to be part of what they do, she's holding an original print sale and donating 50% of the money to them.

Vindication Swim: A Local Connection to Derby’s History

Filmmaker Elliott Hasler’s hit film Vindication Swim brings to life the inspiring story of pioneering swimmer Mercedes Gleitze, best known for her record-breaking swims, including her famous English Channel crossing in 1927. While the film focuses on her remarkable career, the story of Mercedes Gleitze also has a special connection to Derbyshire.
