Autumn Edition tickets on sale from Monday 28 September

Our Autumn Edition takes place from Thursday 12 – Sunday 15 November. Tickets go on general sale from Monday 28 September at 10am.

We will send you more details next Monday.

Whilst you can view the events on our website from 21 September, only Festival Friends are able to book.

We have 28 events to entertain and inspire you, with a programme that’s bursting with variety – featuring novelists, journalists, broadcasters, historians and academics. Highlights include Fergal Keane, Sir Jeremy Hunt, Stephen Sackur, Tessa Dunlop and Mary Lawson.

Explore subjects ranging from Pompeii to the pop music of George Michael with lots of events and activities for children too.

We will have a broad range of events for children and adults with events in QUAD, Derby Theatre, St Peter’s Church, libraries and the Museum of Making.

Priority bookings for our Festival Friends open today, Monday 21 September, with tickets on general sale on Monday 28 September. You will be able to pick up copies of the programme from the usual places: arts venues, libraries etc from next weekend. We look forward to welcoming you back!

Book and Craft Market, Saturday 7 November

Our Book and Craft Market will be held on Saturday 7 November, a week before the Autumn Edition starts, in the lovely Market Hall.

We will have a great mix of stalls including book related crafts, local authors and publishers all providing lovely ideas for Christmas gifts. We’ll also have a Festival stall selling copies of books by authors who’ve visited the Festival recently – many of them signed copies – and our popular Mystery Books, plus a Shared Reading stall where you can find out more about the wonderful work of our community project. In addition to the array of stalls, we will have a series of craft activities during the day upstairs in the Ordish Room and Derby Jazz Quartet will be entertaining us in the afternoon.

Buying tickets for the Autumn Edition

There are several ways to enjoy the events. You can buy:

tickets for individual events
a Digital Pass, which enables you to watch recordings of four events for a period of six weeks after the Festival ends for £22
individual recordings of four events, which mostly cost 50% of the in-person ticket price.

You can only buy the Digital Pass and individual recordings online from the Festival website not from QUAD.

How to book

You can book all tickets online through the Festival website.
In addition:

for all events that are being hosted at QUAD you can visit QUAD to book tickets. Please check QUAD website for their opening hours before visiting
for events at Derby Theatre, you can visit their box office or phone on – 01332 593939
for events in libraries, book direct with the library
for events at other venues: Museum of Making, St Peter’s Church and Chapel Street Arts Centre, you must book online through the Festival’s website.
