Buxton Festival Fringe is looking forward to opening its doors again and meeting all its friends, supporters and entrants at its open-to-all AGM on Wednesday November 9.
The event, which takes place at The Green Man Gallery on Hardwick Square South, Buxton at 7 for 7.30pm, represents a chance to celebrate the success of Fringe 2022 .
As ever, the important posts of Chair, Vice-chair, Treasurer and Secretary will be voted in as well as the committee itself, which is always looking for new members. The friendly AGM includes a chance to mingle with a glass of wine and take part in a Q&A with the team. It will be followed by an abbreviated committee meeting with newcomers welcome to stay and see how the Fringe works before deciding whether they want to join the committee.
The 2022 Fringe celebrated a return to business as usual with familiar fixtures such as Fringe Sunday taking place once more and 171 mostly live events entertaining audiences in and around the town. 2023’s dates have been announced as July 5-23 with the Fringe website open for entries from December 1. See www.buxtonfringe.org.uk for full details.
Fringe chair Stephen Walker comments: “As the Fringe settles into a hopefully more normal routine after getting back to full strength in the summer, the AGM offers a great opportunity to find out more about us for all those interested in getting involved in the cultural life of the town.”
The Fringe is also giving advance notice of its Christmas Party to be held at the Pump Room on Friday, 9 December 2022, 7pm featuring the singing of Derbyshire Carols.
