Behind the Scenes with Buxton International Festival

While we plan for 2021, we are delighted to share the first in a series of conversations with creative team members who are helping to bring our productions to life. Our freelancers’ skills are essential to our artistic endeavours and although their work largely happens behind the scenes, they contribute a huge amount of energy and talent to the Festival.

This week, Madeleine Boyd, award-winning set and costumer designer for La donna del lago speaks to Michael Williams about how she approaches new projects and develops her ideas. There is also an exciting opportunity to see a tiny sneak peak of the model box for La donna del lago.

Conde Nast Traveller has named Buxton one of 10 Best Places to Visit in the UK in 2021. The feature includes a special mention of Buxton International Festival.
