It’s the final week of Buxton International Festival and there is still plenty to see, with more opera, late night jazz gigs, book talks and music events.

Graham Clark plays the final gig in our Late Night Jazz Café in the Pavilion Gardens this Friday 21 July evening at 10pm. The local hero and ace violinist brings his acclaimed quartet to the festival.

The Gwilym Simcock Quinitet completes our jazz series on Saturday 22 July with a very special line-up of distinguished jazz musicians, and, their aim is to take you on a musical journey at this highly anticipated gig.

Kaleidoscope Chamber CollectiveWith a residency at Wigmore Hall under their belt, top ten best classical records to their name, and young musicians of the year in their midst, there’s no denying the talent of these musicians. Over two days, be transported to the elegant salons of Paris in the first recital, then enter a world of English Romanticism with the second concert.

Dame Shirley J Thompson: Women of Windrush: Through mesmerising instrumental music and song, multi-award-winning composer Shirley J Thompson’s opera, Women of the Windrush, portrays inspirational narratives from the lives of a variety of women who travelled to the UK from the West Indies (1940s – 1960s).
