The Crescent Experience launches Regency Dress-Up experience for all ages

Visitors to the Crescent Experience are being invited to channel their inner Bridgerton or Jane Austen this month with a brand-new Regency Dress-Up experience for all ages.

Running from now until Sunday 7 June 2026 inclusive, this limited-time opportunity gives adults and children the chance to try on beautiful Georgian and Regency-inspired costumes before promenading along the iconic Crescent and capturing unforgettable photos both inside and outside the building. It’s a wonderfully photogenic experience — perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, family days out, or simply adding something special to a half-term visit.

Visitors can choose from a wide range of period-style outfits and accessories, including elegant gowns, waistcoats, hats and children’s costumes specially made by Another World, allowing the whole family to join in the fun. Visitors are encouraged to take as many photographs as they wish, creating the perfect keepsake from their visit to one of England’s most celebrated Georgian landmarks.

This new Dress-Up experience is being offered as part of a trial exploring how enhanced activities at the Crescent Experience might develop in the future.

Katie Potter, spokesperson for the Crescent Experience said: “We know from speaking to other heritage sites that dressing up in period costume is hugely popular with visitors of all ages, and we’re delighted to offer people the chance to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Georgian period in such a unique setting.”

The experience is expected to be especially popular during half-term week, and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead.

The Crescent Experience would also like to thank Bath Theatrical Costume Hire, Bath for their valued support in arranging the costumes for this special event.

The Regency Dress-Up experience is included with admission and available daily, subject to availability, until Sunday 7 June. As this is a pilot project, please do check availability before visiting. Open from 10.30am to 4.00pm with last entry at 3pm, tickets can be purchased from the Pump Room, Buxton or online at BuxtonCrescentExperience.com
