Music + Memory Matinees

In summer 2026, we piloted a series of Music + Memory Matinee sessions (for people living with dementia and their carers) at Hannage Brook Medical Centre in Wirksworth, as part of our Creatives in Place programme. As a direct outcome of this, and in response to the positive uptake and impact of the initial sessions, sessions will now be rolled out as monthly resource (initially from October 2026 – March 2027) in collaboration with District Musicians.

The Creative Health Derbyshire event, held at Cromford Mills, bought together over 130 leaders and decision-makers from across health, local authorities, community organisations, and the cultural sector to share their experience and insight to help shape understanding and strategic direction for Creative Health across Derbyshire.

Creatives in Place evaluation highlights the power of creative connections in primary care

An independent evaluation of Arts Derbyshire’s Creatives in Place (CiP) pilot has found that embedding creative practitioners within GP practices can help build stronger connections between primary care, communities and the creative sector.
