Heritage Day: Race And Representation In The Archive

Applications for Young Archivists 2024

Young Archivists provides an introduction to the fundamentals of working with archives, which enhances opportunities for future careers and qualifications.  The course is aimed at young people from backgrounds currently under-represented in the heritage sector.

100 Black Women Who Have Made A Mark

Preparations are underway for the launch of 100 Black Women Who Have Made A Mark.  Led by Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage, the project will centre around an exhibition featuring the portraits of 100 Black women, curated by Pawlet Brookes with artwork by visual artists: Valerie Asiimwe Amani, Yvadney Davis, Gayle Ebose, Grace Lee and Lauryn Pinard.  We are delighted to reveal the cover image, by Patricia Vester, which encompasses the spirit of the project and everyone who has been a part of the journey.

The exhibition opens for Black History month on Tuesday 1 October at Leicester Gallery.
