There are plenty of exciting events happening this year at the Harley Foundation on the historic Welbeck estate in Nottinghamshire.
Continuing throughout 2023 and 2024
Illustrating the life of the elusive 5th Duke of Portland, who owned Welbeck during the Victorian period. The 5th Duke is famous for his extraordinary buildings, including miles of tunnels under the estate. This exhibition reveals his life beyond the tunnels – including lost love and amazing art collecting.
Continuing until 31 December 2025
Revealing 400 years of world-class art. See works that have not been exhibited before, alongside much-loved showstoppers from the ducal art collection. With a portrait gallery stacked with Tudor and Jacobean portraits, the earring worn by Charles I at his execution, and Michelangelo’s Madonna del Silenzio.
Supported by Bonhams.
