Bakewell Cottage Nursing Home is looking to recruit an Activities Co-ordinator.

Located in the market town of Bakewell, Bakewell Cottage Nursing Home is a 36-bedded Nursing Home providing care predominantly for residents of 65 and over.

As an Activities Co-ordinator your days will be varied. You will develop meaningful occupational therapies, deliver engaging sessions and support events and outings with the residents to ensure that their quality of life is enhanced.

You will be responsible for organising a programme of appropriate, therapeutic and recreational activities which may include craft classes, music, films, quizzes, bingo, documented reminiscence and entertainment.

• £12.20-£12.50 per hour depending upon qualification
• 13.5 hours per week

Bakewell Cottage Nursing Home’s Activities Co-Ordinators help their residents to socialise within the Care home and provide a variety of activities that cater for all abilities and needs. You will be responsible for planning and initiating monthly rolling/individual programmes and encourage residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies.

You will also need to maintain full and accurate records of daily activities using appropriate documents.

As an Activities Co-ordinator you will require the following experience and skills:

• Proven ability to develop and organise a range of events/activities including arts/crafts activities.
• Be friendly, creative, and confident.
• Have a genuine interest in working with the elderly.
• Possess good communication and organisational skills.
• Be a confident team player.
• Have the ability to work on own initiative.
