Attend a Cultural Awareness Event

The Chesterfield Equality and Diversity Forum and Chesterfield Borough Council invite you to attend a Cultural Awareness event in January 2023.

Hosted by The Asian Association of Chesterfield and North Derbyshire, the Cultural Awareness Event will take place on 12 January 2023 from 10am to 2pm in the Town Hall in Chesterfield.

Attendees will join The Asian Association to discuss their culture and the contributions they make to the local community, as well as joining a myth busting session.

There will also be an opportunity to learn some traditional dance steps and also learn how to drape and fold a sari.

Councillor Sharon Blank, Chesterfield Borough Council’s cabinet member for governance, said: “This event is open to everyone who would like to learn more about both The Asian Association and their culture. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have, as well as having the chance to listen to an interesting talk about what the Asian Association do, their history and current projects.”

Lunch is free of charge and will be catered by Saffron Kitchen Chesterfield (CIC).
