Malc Baxter, A Veteran Derbyshire Artist and Illustrator of Rock Climbing Guide Books, Launches His New Website”

Experienced artist Malc Baxter, hailing from Glossop, showcases work on his new website from a career spanning over six decades. Through his art, he captures both the scenic and rugged landscapes of the Peak District. Malc’s approach avoids a singular method but aims instead to capture the familiar while also considering perspectives and details that may have been previously overlooked.
Not confined to watercolour, Malc is also acclaimed for his illustrious career as an illustrator for rock-climbing guidebooks, spanning four decades and culminating in the notable Stanage 2002 edition. His crag drawings not only assist climbers in navigating challenging terrains, but they are also regarded as stand-alone pieces of art.
With a background deeply rooted in climbing, Malc’s affection for mountains, crags, and remote locations is evident. Yet, he equally enjoys exploring the serene and tranquil settings that many people find captivating.
