The Art Trail at Wirksworth Festival involves local people opening their homes to turn the town into a multifaceted gallery with over 100 artists & makers exhibiting and selling their work in more than 70 venues. The exhibition spaces are in buildings ranging from charming stone cottages to impressive Georgian townhouses, historic and quirky buildings, gardens, courtyards, shop windows and civic buildings and churches.

The Trail is the perfect way to meet artists; talk about the work and buy affordable contemporary art whilst visiting some of Derbyshire’s charming homes. If you want to understand the thinking behind a piece of work the artist is there to explain. If you have ever considered commissioning artwork for your home the Trail provides the perfect place to discuss the creation of a special piece and see a wide range of work.

After showcasing my work as part of Discuss in 2021, and taking part in the main Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair in 2022, I am delighted to be back in the Turkish Baths for 2023. Featuring over 150 specially selected makers this is the 3rd year the event’s home will be at Victoria  Baths, one of the city’s favourite heritage attractions and cultural venues.

Meet, browse and buy from 50 selected exhibitors at each fair, showcasing some of the best craft, art and artisan foods from across our region.

There’ll be something to suit all budgets across an inspiring range of ceramics, glass, textiles, jewellery, wood, painting, photography, printmaking, stationery, homewares, seasonal goods, artisan foods, cards and more.

head start on your Christmas shopping at the much-anticipated contemporary craft and design fair.

At Lustre you can find everything from artisan jewellery and bags to ceramics,
glass and tableware – a great place to look for unique gifts for your family and friends (or as a treat for yourself).

This year, visitors can buy beautiful handmade objects or commission work direct from over 40 of the UK’s finest established and emerging designer/makers, selected for the quality and uniqueness of their craft.
