If you’re looking to have more singing in your life this year, then why not join High Peak Singers, a friendly community choir who are always looking for new members? Launched in April 2022 by award-winning conductor Hannah Brine, the mixed-voice choir sings a range of exciting repertoire and performs every term.
The new term starts on January 20th and everyone is welcome, there are no auditions. Rehearsals take place on Monday evenings at St Mary’s Catholic Academy in New Mills, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Choir member Becky Barron said “Everything anybody tells you about singing in a choir being uplifting and making you feel so good is telling you the absolute truth. It’s really quite creative and exciting.”
Hannah Brine, choir founder and leader, said “High Peak Singers are such a lovely group of people and we make wonderful music and have a lot of fun every Monday. We offer taster sessions so if you aren’t quite sure if the choir is right for you why not book one of those and try us out for size?”
Hannah’s choirs have performed at the BBC Proms, Royal Variety Show, Olivier Awards and many other events. She was awarded an inaugural BBC Unsung Hero Award for her work with community choirs in 2015.
