It was a pleasure to organise such a beautiful evening of Diwali in Belper last Saturday at Number 28. Our audience was able to ‘have a go’ at making Diwali Art such as Rangoli, Diya & Heena, try a sari, learn about the story of Diwali and taste Diwali refreshments. Some tasty food recipes were also available for people to take away and try at home!
Thank you to Mohika Shankar for her graceful semi classical dance performance and to everyone who came to this sold out event! Extra special thanks go to the Mayor of Belper and our collaborators, Fleet Arts, for making the event a real success! Thank you to the Arts Council of England and Belper Town Council for their generous funding.
One audience member said “My children and I attended and had such a fantastic evening. It was such a well organised and well thought out event and so engaging for the kids. The food was delicious and the dancing was simply stunning. Thank you so much to all involved. I’ll definitely be on the look out for other events.” What lovely feedback!
