Buxton Fringe is OPEN for entries!

Fringe 2025

We are now open for entries to next year’s Fringe from July 9-27 and are happy to confirm that, thanks to careful management, we have been able to keep the entry fees the same for the third year running!

2025 Entry Fees

£55 – December – end February

£77 – February – end March

£88 – March onwards

Sunday April 20 is the deadline to appear in the printed programme and we encourage all our entrants to enter by this date for maximum publicity. Remember anyone can enter the Fringe! Please help us spread the word! You can see events as they come in here.

Anyone wishing to appear with the managed venue Underground must apply through Underground’s website – rather than registering with the Fringe. Underground is in discussion about a venue for Fringe 2025.

We are sorry to be losing The Green Man Gallery which will close at the end of this year. It has been a wonderful year-round arts venue for Buxton and will be missed.

How to Take Part

Detailed information including a venues list can be found on the Take Part page on our website. It is best to check in often with these pages in order to stay up to date.

Copyright: We are increasingly being made aware of potential copyright infringements on our site. Copyright covers a wide range pf works including photographs, plays, music, dance, spoken word, graphic design, costume etc. There is more info here and you can read our own easy-to-read guidance here.

It is essential that entrants are aware that they have cleared copyright on the images they plan to submit, and that by entering the Fringe they give us permission to use their images. If they have licensed an image from someone else, they have to prove to us that the image is also licensed for website use in perpetuity. Under no circumstances can entrants use a third party image without licensing. Any infringements are the responsibility of the entrant.

Community Links: Every year we try to reach into various communities in Buxton that may not otherwise be able to access Fringe activities. We encourage our performers and artists to get involved and offer a personalised service to help facilitate this. Find out more

Fringe AGM

Thanks to everyone who attended our Annual General Meeting on November 20th. Chair Stephen Walker has now stepped down and has been replaced by Ian Bowns, an experienced trustee and also director of Transition Buxton. Vice Chair Jeanette Hamilton, Treasurer Sandra Jowett and Secretary Carole Garner have all been re-elected. Read our press release here.

Fringe Statistics

Following our analysis of this year’s Fringe, we are delighted to tell you that the Fringe offered a well over £300,000 boost to the local economy. The average audience figure of 31 was the highest for a decade. The estimated total audience figure including free events rose to nearly 14,000. Read more about our findings and thanks again for your help with audience and entrants’ surveys.

Dates for your diary

We are already able to confirm two events for your diary:

Saturday April 12: FRINGE SPRINGBOARD

This is our spring-themed event, now at the Pump Room opposite The Crescent, offering a sneak preview of 2025’s Fringe shows.

Saturday June 7: FRINGE PROGRAMME PARTY

Also at the Pump Room: come and pick up your printed programme hot off the press and mingle with Fringe stars who will be offering further taster performances. More information to follow.

Fringe Friends

Thanks to all our existing Fringe Friends who have updated their standing orders to reflect the revised fees of £15 single or £25 joint membership where two people live at the same address. Existing Friends will also have been contacted recently about our new bank account which also requires some action from our Friends.

It is now easier than ever to become a Fringe Friend thanks to our handy online form available via our Friends page on the website. You can also donate on a one-off basis.

Newcomers!

We are so pleased to have welcomed several new people at the AGM! If you would like to join our committee please email info@buxtonfringe.org.uk. It is fine to come along to a few meetings before you commit!
