Black Umfolosi are performing at New Mills Art Theatre, Jodrell Street on Saturday 10th September. Doors open 7pm, performance 7:30pm. Tickets are £14.50 available here: https://new-mills-festival.ticketlight.co.uk.
A not-to-be-missed first for New Mills, Black Umfolosi are inspired by the traditional song and dance of their native southern Africa, with a beauty and enthusiasm that is unrivalled. Their performances are energy driven and engaging, mixing a gentleness of spirit and song with an exuberance in dance. You will be transfixed by the combination of lyrics, voices, movements and costume.
This very special performance for New Mills Festival will also feature local young people that have been taught dance moves by the band earlier the same day. This is being brought to you through a collaboration of the New Mills Art Theatre and the New Mills Festival.
