Artist profile
My work is ceramic, hand built forms which are inspired by the fluid streamlined shapes of bird and sea life. Through using burnishing and smoke firing I explore surface decoration which is constantly surprising as it evades total control. This for me is part of the pleasure of making. I have been teaching at Chesterfield College for the past 15 years and have recently left to work full time on my ceramics. I am a member of Peak District Artisans and regularly exhibit in Derbyshire and Scotland. See my website for dates and venues.
