Picking up a camera or mobile phone and taking a photograph for many of us can be great fun, providing us with that all important visual reminder of a holiday perhaps or a special occasion. However, the camera is merely the tool we use to capture the image, it is what we see within that image, and our interpretation of it through the photograph which is the important factor in my work. With a particular interest in the landscape, and by using the skills I acquired through BA Hons Fine Art Photography, University of Derby my aim is to encourage new ways of seeing. Photography can help to develop enquiring minds, as well as extend existing creative skills, by encouraging observation, teamwork and open discussions, as well as building confidence with an open enthusiasm for an arts activity. I can organise and facilitate projects, exhibitions or workshops, either in school or through group activities designed to suit all ages and ability.
