Steve is a singer-songwriter and folk musician with a deep love for Americana and a gift for storytelling. A seasoned performer, he has graced stages at clubs and festivals across the UK and the United States for many years. He has released multiple solo albums and is a proud member of the legendary band The Long Road. His music has garnered hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify and other platforms, with notable songs celebrating his roots in Derbyshire—such as Derbyshire Times, Run Jimmy Run, and A Derbyshire Christmas.
In addition to his musical work, Steve is an accomplished writer for the stage. His musical How to Survive and Thrive in an Impossible World (with a Piano) enjoyed a three-week run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and is set to appear at Brighton Fringe this year. He often performs alongside his longtime collaborator, the brilliant pianist, arranger, and producer Chris “The Bishop” Lydon.
Steve is also a published author, with several books to his name. These include A Beautiful Broken Dream, chronicling his journey through the southern United States, and Stumbling Over Eden, a personal quest from the peaks of the High Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert. In 2024, he released his children’s book The Spirit Dog, accompanied by an Arts Council-supported tour of schools and libraries across England.
Beyond the arts, Steve is also an award-winning psychologist, bringing insight and empathy to all his creative endeavours’.
