Artist profile

Sharon’s Studio Art

Nature in all it’s forms, has always been an inspiration and I seem to be particularly drawn to naturally occurring spirals, a rolling sea and the sky – particularly when there is a good storm brewing or the sky is unbelievably vibrant at sunset. During the last year, I have taken advantage of the unusual circumstances to develop my work into new areas, that are more sculptural and I am really excited to see where these go…..

Creative Genre

  • My art tends to be predominantly textile based - using a lot of wool, mixed textiles and felting techniques, to add texture and interest to a piece. I particularly enjoy building up layers of colour and depth with wool fibres and felting them together to give a loose, expressionist style of work. I mainly create landscape pictures and 3D organic shapes bowls.

Work Undertaken

  • I have “ready made” art for sale on my website and also undertake commissions (mainly landscape) so if you would like a special place immortalised in art
  • then drop me a message and I can give you a quote (based on size and complexity).

Work in Education

  • I regularly hold adult workshops and have run school art workshops in various mediums.
