I am a painter (oils) and also a poet, prose writer and singer. In my work life I am an Associate Professor in Education at the University of Nottingham but am seeking to develop my artistic pursuits and look beyond the university.
I come from Bolsover, North East Derbyshire. My father was a miner at Glapwell colliery before retraining as a social worker and working across Chesterfield district and my parents lived for 50 years in Bolsover. My mum now lives in Glapwell and I am just up the road in Pleasley, but over on the Notts side now. I have been a Derbyshire resident most of my life and am fiercely proud of my home county which has inspired many of my landscapes.
