Rick’s photographic work has covered a wide range of practices and ideas. His current work grows from a lifelong fascination for the moorlands and dales of the Derbyshire/Staffordshire borders. Visually complex and rich in detail, the energy and delicacy of this area when experienced up close can be utterly overwhelming.Aiming to communicate something of this complexity, each image is made up of a number of exposures over time, a technique that owes as much to a Cubist approach to subject, as it does to established photographic practices.Rick is a Senior Lecturer in Photography at Staffordshire University.
