Pippa G. Artist

I am a community artist specializing in 2D and 3D art, including drawing, painting, mixed media, jewellery, metalwork, and sugar sculpture. I have a creative mind and skill set, I love working with people and collaborating and I strongly believe that creative activities offer valuable opportunities to build relationships, nurture trust, and boost confidence. They enable us to share experiences, build connections and tell our stories. I have post graduate qualifications and experience in teaching adults and young people, and sharing skills, creativity and ideas is one of my favourite elements of my work. With over 20 years’ experience working with diverse groups, I collaborate with organizations such as Platform Thirty1, Greater Creative, Derbyshire Mind, and Belper Arts Trail.

I hold a BA in Social Studies, an MA in Social Work and postgraduate qualifications in adult education. My interests include socio-economic history and research, particularly in the Amber and Derwent valleys, known for their rich heritage of making.

Recent projects include:

• Working and volunteering with Derbyshire Mind initiatives (2022–2026) to support adult wellbeing through creative activities.
• Serving as lead artist for “The Street” (2025), a National Lottery-funded project with Platform Thirty1 and Greater Creative exploring mining community history, resulting in a permanent 5-metre artwork at Newton Community Centre.
• Participating in “Blackwell Brides” (February 2026), with Platform Thirty1 and Greater Creative where I created three historical wedding cake sculptures and designed and led a 2 day sugar sculpture workshop for nearly 100
• Designing and leading workshops with young people in the Greater Creative Young Leaders project (March 2026).
