Since 1978 I’ve been a professional folk musician/storyteller. This involves folk song; music (as well as English music I’ve worked with Bengali and Transylvanian musicians); folk dance; songwriting – especially for projects and community plays. My storytelling is based in the English tradition (I have a selection of Derbyshire material) but with children covers other cultures too. I have done performances in folk clubs, festivals, arts centres, story clubs and in just about every type of community venue imaginable. Community Plays/Projects have included Mountsorrel Community Play, Children of the Mills and work for Nottingham Playhouse. I work with children, adults and family groups
