Pam Smart is an award winning artist creating vibrant architectural paintings in acrylic and watercolour. Her intricate paintings, often graphic in style, combine elements of pattern and decoration with striking colours. Pam is a full time artist working from her studio in Buxton, a town with a rich architectural heritage, which has provided a source of inspiration for many of her paintings. Pam graduated with a degree in Graphic Design and two awards from the Royal Society of Arts which included a travel bursary to study arts and crafts in India. She loved the vibrant culture and the vivid colours which certainly made a lasting impression on her. Pam then spent the next 24 years teaching art and design in secondary schools, before taking up her own artwork again four years ago. She has exhibited across the UK and is currently creating a large body of work for an exhibition in Germany next year.
