Artist profile
Olena Hastilow is a contemporary visual artist working across photography, painting and mixed media. Her work includes portrait photography, fine art portraiture, multiple exposure photography and fine art street photography, alongside abstract and nature-inspired paintings and mixed media. Through these disciplines, she explores identity, memory and the relationship between people and the natural world.
Originally from Ukraine, Olena is now based in Marchington on the Staffordshire-Derbyshire border. She regularly participates in exhibitions and creative events across Derbyshire, where the county’s landscape and creative community have become an important influence on her work.
Alongside her creative practice, Olena delivers portrait photography workshops, online multiple exposure courses, photography webinars and self-portrait photography workshops. She is currently expanding her educational programme to include mixed media workshops.
