Artist profile
A few years ago, I returned to my childhood passion of drawing and painting. The delight in trying to capture to the natural world has never left me and surrounded by the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, I now have chance to paint full time.
Working in both oil and acrylic, I mainly paint local wildlife – in particular birds. I like to think my style is mostly realistic but like to use the hedgerow plants, ivy and bramble to create a piece of art that works as an accessory in any home; bringing the beauty of nature and the outside world, in.
I have sold work in various cafes in Burton and an Home Interiors shop in Ashby and have regular commissions for pet portraits. I have also designed and painted the book covers for a local author here in South Derbyshire.
I am a member of Ashby Art Club and will be showing my work again this year at the Easter Art Exhibition at Ticknall village hall, Derbyshire.
