Artist profile

Kevin McQuaid, Creative Old Sods

Since getting my English Degree in the early eighties, I did a range of very different jobs culminating in some Chinese training to become a Taichi instructor. Then, following the death of my partner in 2017, I started an M.A. in Creative Writing. By the start of the second year, I discovered that I was more interested in the creativity rather than the academic palavers. A Creative Old Sod was born. COS!

Creative Genre

  • CREATIVE WRITING -*- Fiction -*- Poetry -*- Photography

Work Undertaken

  • I continue to write creative non-fiction and poetry linked to my photography. In addition I am working on a longer piece explaining post-sedative psychosis following my three-month stay in Greek hospitals during covid after inadvertently falling off a cliff. Another project includes a collaboration ('Celtic Hare') with Amanda O'Neill of The Green Man Gallery (Buxton) which includes an improvised piece by the Belinfante Quartet (belinfantequartet.com).
