Arts Derbyshire

Artist profile

Jenny Gartside Jewellery

Unique handmade jewellery, inspired by nature.

I’m a jeweller from Buxton in the Peak District, Derbyshire.

I studied jewellery and silversmithing at college in Sheffield over 17 years ago and now run my own jewellery business where I design and make everything from my own workshop.

I work mainly in silver and often use gemstones in my work. I specialise in traditional hand engraving which I use to decorate many of my jewellery pieces.

My inspiration comes from the natural world, UK flora and fauna fascinate me and this is reflected in my work.

Creative Genre

  • I specialise in the art of hand engraving using a traditional handheld graver. I decorate many of my jewellery pieces with this, as it opens up a whole world of decorative possibilities.

Work Undertaken

  • I take commissions
  • working closely with customers to create their perfect jewellery items.

Work in Education

  • I run one to one jewellery classes from my workshop
  • ranging from beginner to advanced.
