Painter and Poet.
Paintings include landscape, still life and abstracts in a loose, contemporary style. I usually work mainly in acrylic, sometimes in oils. I’m based in Taddington.
My paintings can currently be found in Jarva Gallery, Whaley Bridge and the Derwent Gallery, Grindleford. I welcome visitors for studio visits by arrangement. I teach a local art group and run Mind’s Eye workshops, helping painters to better use access their own imagination in their work. I’m pleased to do talks and demos to local groups. I run an online critique group for artists.
As a poet, major themes are science and landscape. Poetry books include Hubble, Maxwell’s Rainbow (a Poetry Book Society Recommendation) and String, all published by Smith Doorstop Books. Also Planet Box, by Comma Press. I’ve done residencies, collaborations, readings and performances and taught creative writing in higher education as well as a range of other settings . As a painter I do exhibitions and demonstrations
