Artist profile
I am an artist and event organiser living in the High Peak. I work with photography and mosaic, sometimes one informing the other. Since childhood I’ve been drawn to mosaic, the Romans left their mark all around where I grew up, with yearly discoveries of the evidence grand living emerging from beneath the soil. Mosaic endures, never fading. The reflective properties of the materials can make light dance and respond in a unique way. Its creative possibilities are endless. I’ve studied at schools in two of the great Italian homes of world-class mosaics; Ravenna and Venice. Alongside my own mosaic practice exhibiting and undertaking commissions, I have assisted on large-scale public art installations. I am a member of the British Association of Modern Mosaic.
