Creative Dementia

A project to deliver and research creative arts sessions that are designed for people living with young onset dementia and their key family member or caregiver. This has been funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

We are delivering a free taster session of the workshops on 7^th December at Derby Theatre. We are also have dates for our delivery of 10 weekly workshops starting from 8 March 2023.  These will draw upon a range of activities, including: drama, role-play, storytelling, sound, art and music making, movement and rhythm, to create images, scenes and stories. The workshops are based on a method called Neuro Dramatic Play or NDP. NDP is a relational model that builds resilience, the ability to cope, into creative play.
