What's on
Hubbub Theatre will be offering people the chance to ‘Tune Yourself Up’ with a special one-off workshop ‘an Introduction to Drag Persona & Performance’ in October.
Drag: Tune Yourself Up will be a playful, practical day exploring drag and performance to discover a drag persona that feels uniquely your own. Across the day, the workshop will explore creating, amplifying and embodying a drag persona, movement and stage presence, finding a style, costume on a budget, plus practical make-up and wig tips. There will also be a Q&A, skills sharing and a chance to have a go at performing.
Drag: Tune Yourself Up, facilitated by Shane Lammond-Lynch, is part of Hubbub’s ‘Get Involved’ programme suitable for Learning Disabled, Autistic and Neurodivergent adults aged 18 and above.
What might your drag look like if, instead of putting on a mask, you tuned yourself up? For this workshop you don’t need a drag name, a finished look, expensive costumes or any previous drag experience, but you are very welcome to bring anything you already have that you’d like to play and experiment with. Come as you are and tune yourself up!
Drag: Tune Yourself Up, facilitated by Shane Lammond-Lynch, takes place at Hubbub, Chapel Street Arts on Thursday 29th October 2026, 10am to 3pm. Tickets are £10 per person, and places can be booked in advance by contacting Hubbub via email: info@hubbubtheatre.org or calling 07405156800.
Hubbub gratefully acknowledge support from National Lotteries fund Reaching Communities for this event.
