| Peak District Artisans’ Winter Art Fair is well under way in preparations, with an interesting mix of seventeen artists representing a range of disciplines: Fine Art; Photography; Textiles; Glass; Printmaking; Ceramics; Lettering & Paper-making; Basketry & Fibre Weaving; Jewellery & Wall Art. In other words this is is promising to be a fantastic event not to be missed, the perfect occasion to meet the artists themselves, browse and discover unique art works to buy as gifts for yourselves and others! Art Fair Cheshire will take place in Karin Sheldon’s home town of Macclesfield. In the glorious Macclesfield Town Hall you will find many disciplines represented. This long established show gives profits to East Cheshire Hospice. Open 8 – 15 Oct. Mixed Media artist Ingrid Katarina Karlsson is taking part in Art Fair Cheshire 8th – 15th October, at Macclesfield Town Hall, Macclesfield SK10 1EA. Art Fair Cheshire, established in 1999, is a biennial exhibition featuring artwork from more than 70 local and regional artists. A percentage of every sale is donated to East Cheshire Hospice, with some artists generously donating 100% of the proceeds. Orkney in Paint, Print and Clay. Cath Dunn together with ex-PDA chair Jo Polmear will be showing at the Dundas Gallery, Edinburgh. The exhibition originates from an Artists’ residency at Linkshouse, Piers Art Centre, Orkney awarded to Cath and Jo earlier in the year. Cath has created an innovative series of works for the exhibition, painted on Caithness stone, under the title Beside the Ocean of Time. The exhibition will run from 9th to 19th October at the Dundas Street Gallery, 6 Dundas Street, Edinburgh, EH3, 6HZ, open daily 11am to 6pm. The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair Katie Wyke will be showing both ‘Washing-Day’ and ‘Red’ at The Gallery Holt in Norfolk from 19th September – 27th October, in their Best of British VI exhibition. This autumn sees the return of Ten Artists, an exhibition that has become a much-loved fixture in the Peak District arts calendar since its establishment in Baslow 1996 by Isabel Blincow MBE. The idea behind it is a simple one: ten carefully selected artists, each bringing a collection of their work, creating an exhibition with a rich variety of styles, subjects and approaches. The exhibition also supports Samaritans, raising many thousands of pounds for the charity over the years. PDA member Katherine Stephenson @hopevalleyglassart is among this year’s participating artists. It’s a lovely opportunity to see a wide range of original work and support a very worthwhile cause. Baslow Village Hall, DE45 1SR Sat/Sun 24th & 25th Oct Karin Sheldon will be presenting her latest collection at the FORGE Space London Hatton Garden. The gallery’s theme will be inspired by the book Moby Dick. Karin’s favourite topic being water, she has enjoyed applying her imagination to Whales and Manta Rays. A wonderful exhibition space with lots of interesting exhibitors. Her Glacier container will be displayed. Textile artist Alison Wake is busy preparing for the Into the Woods exhibition alongside fellow PDA members at the Woodland Discovery Centre in Ecclesall Woods, Sheffield, 3-8th November. Inspired by a visit earlier this year her primary work (seen here in progress) features the bluebells which carpet the area in spring. She will also be showing a number of studies (small affordable artworks) inspired by the woodland. Into the Woods Katherine Rhodes has two linocut prints selected to be exhibited in the “International Original Print Exhibition 2026”. Goldsmiths North (Sheffield) will present a new show at Wentworth Woodhouse, Yorkshire. |
