Works closely and in partnership delivery with: New Art Exchange (NAE), DASH (Disability Arts in Shropshire), CVAN regional and London networks, Alleyne& (evaluation), host organisations, mentors and sector partners
Contract: Freelance contract, fixed term for 24 months (October 2026 – September 2028)
Commitment: Equivalent to approximately 2-3 days per week, with flexibility to shape working patterns around programme delivery and other freelance work. We recognise that workloads will vary across the life of the programme, with busier periods around recruitment, events and reporting.
Fee: £43,000 total contract fee, payable in monthly instalments over the duration of the contract.
Location: Hybrid, with home working and occasional travel across England for meetings, workshops and programme activity.

About the Programme
Transform National (TN) is a two-year national programme designed to support the systemic change needed in visual arts leadership. Led by New Art Exchange (NAE), CVAN England and DASH, the programme supports emerging leaders from underrepresented groups to progress into Executive Director pathways whilst working with organisations to embed inclusive governance, organisational change and equitable leadership structures.
The Producer role sits across NAE’s Transform National, CVAN’s wider Fair + Equitable, and DASH’s Future Curators programme, helping to connect leadership development, organisational change, policy influence, and national advocacy.
The role will support programme delivery across England, working with participating organisations, CVAN’s nine regional networks and London, artists, mentors, evaluators, policy partners and funders.
Purpose of the Role
The Producer will coordinate and deliver the Transform National and Fair + Equitable programmes, ensuring strong project management, communications, organisational engagement, access provision and learning exchange.
The postholder will act as the operational lead across the partnership, supporting the delivery of leadership placements, network programmes, organisational development activities, evaluation processes, and national dissemination.
The role will help translate learning into practical tools, policy influence and future sector development.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Management and Delivery
- Coordinate day-to-day delivery of Transform National and associated Fair + Equitable activity.
- Develop and maintain detailed workplans, timelines, milestones and reporting systems.
- Support delivery across all programme phases including:
- organisational recruitment and readiness
- governance and leadership workshops
- Associate Executive Director placements
- mentoring and peer learning
- CVAN nine national programmes
- dissemination and legacy activity
- Monitor budgets, schedules, contracts and partner contributions.
- Coordinate programme meetings and partnership governance structures.
Organisational Development and Leadership Support
- Support participating organisations through onboarding and readiness processes.
- Support DASH and NAE to coordinate workshops covering:
- inclusive leadership
- reviewing and strengthening governance
- organisational culture change
- accountability frameworks
- access and equity practice
- Support development of:
- Inclusive Leadership Plans
- Theory of Change processes
- organisational action plans
- Liaise with host organisations, Associate Executive Directors and mentors.
Fair + Equitable and Regional Coordination
- Support the development of CVAN’s Fair and Equitable regional and London network.
- Gather learning, case studies and evidence from regional delivery.
- Facilitate peer exchange between regions.
- Ensure local activity contributes to national programme outcomes.
Access, Inclusion and Participation
- Work with DASH to embed disability justice and access methodologies across delivery.
- Ensure programme activity remains accessible and responsive to participants’ needs.
- Support inclusive recruitment and outreach processes.
Evaluation, Research and Learning
- Work with Alleyne& and partners to support evaluation delivery.
- Coordinate:
- baseline assessments

Communications, Advocacy and Sector Influence
- Lead programme communications planning and coordination.

- Create a national CRM of strategic stakeholders and national network for this work that is shared across with core partners.

Events and National Convening
- Coordinate national meetings, workshops and peer-learning activity.
- Plan and deliver the hybrid conference.
- Manage logistics including:
- venues
- digital delivery
- access provision
- speakers
- participant support
- Support development of alumni networks and ongoing communities of practice.
Person Specification
Essential Experience
- Experience producing or managing complex arts, cultural or social change programmes.
- Experience working across partnerships and multi-organisation projects.
- Strong project management and coordination skills.
- Experience working with equity, inclusion and organisational change programmes.
- Knowledge of the visual arts sector and leadership development.
- Experience managing budgets, reporting and programme administration.
- Experience coordinating events, workshops or conferences.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and across multiple workstreams.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with underrepresented communities and inclusive leadership programmes.
