Beginners Non-caustic Printmaking Course

Our next beginners Non-caustic Printmaking Course is happening this July!

Dates: Tuesdays the 14th, 21st, 28th of July.
Times: Each session runs from 6pm-8.15pm
Location: Milestone Studios, Rock Mill Ln, High Peak, SK22 3BN
Cost: £105 per person for the full course. 4 spaces available.

Join us for a 3 week introductory course into non-caustic printmaking. We will explore techniques using safewash inks and chemical free processes. No previous printmaking experience is needed. Complete beginners are welcome and encouraged to join! Facilitated by printmaker Charlie Collins

Session one: You will explore traditional letterpress, where you will get hands-on with our 1830’s Columbian Printing Press and antique wooden type. You will learn how to set and lock type, how to ink up your text-based designs, and operate the press.

Session two: You will experimental mono printing techniques, including additive, reductive, and trace mono printing. During this week you will be given an induction on our A2 Etching Press.

Session three: You will exploring DIY dry point etching methods using dry point paper and tetra pack cartons, using our A2 gunning etching press to print your plates. You will have the opportunity to create and print several small etching plates.
